Travel Idea
These General Terms and Conditions apply between you (“You” or the “Client”) and the limited liability company “Taxidiotikes Idees General Tourism Office L.L.C.”, trading as “TRAVEL IDEA”, headquartered in Athens, 5 Akademias Street (“We”), as the operator of the booking portal www.travelidea.gr (hereinafter referred to as the “Platform”).
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this Platform. By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept them, please discontinue use of the Platform and exit this website.
You must be at least 18 years old and a natural person to make a booking on this Platform. A natural person, as opposed to a business entity, is an individual acting for purposes that are primarily outside their trade, business, or professional activity.
The operator of the Platform and your contractual counterparty for its use is the limited liability company “Taxidiotikes Idees General Tourism Office L.L.C.”, trading as “TRAVEL IDEA”, headquartered in Athens, 5 Akademias Street, Postal Code 10671, Email: info@travelidea.gr.
The Terms and Conditions are defined as follows:
Scope of Services
1. Intermediation of Travel Services
For flight booking services offered through the Platform, we act solely in our capacity as intermediaries. Our role and obligations are therefore limited to facilitating Travel Services provided by third parties, such as airlines, travel agents, or other service providers (hereinafter referred to as “Service Providers”).
Accordingly, any agreement for the actual provision of Travel Services (e.g. carriage contracts, insurance policies, etc.) is concluded directly between you and the respective Service Provider. We are not co-sellers of the Travel Services and are not a contracting party in the agreement between you and the Service Provider.
By using the Platform to purchase Travel Services, you authorize us to act as an intermediary with the relevant Service Providers on your behalf, including facilitating payment for such Travel Services in order to complete the transaction between you and the Service Provider. The price charged for the Travel Services may include a commission for the services we provide in facilitating this agreement.
Responsibility for the actual performance of Travel Services lies solely with the respective Service Provider. In our role as intermediary, we assume no liability for the Travel Services provided by third parties and make no warranties (express or implied) regarding the suitability or quality of such services. Any claims relating to the performance or non-performance of Travel Services must be directed exclusively to the relevant Service Provider.
Where you are given the opportunity to submit special requests (such as special meals, accessibility requirements, or child seats) during the booking process, we will forward your request to the relevant Service Provider. However, we cannot and do not guarantee that such requests will be fulfilled.
2. Our Own Services
In addition to facilitating Travel Services as described above, the Platform may offer additional services (separate from Travel Services) for which we are directly responsible. In such cases, a direct contractual relationship is established between you and us.
We will clearly inform you when and to what extent we are providing our own services rather than acting as an intermediary. Our service offering may change over time. Some of our services are described in Section 8. For any additional services not covered in these Terms and Conditions, you will be provided with a detailed description, including applicable fees and any supplementary booking and usage terms during the booking process.
3. Applicable Contractual Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply both to the intermediation of Travel Services (Section 1) and to our own services (Section 2).
For agreements concluded between you and a Service Provider, the general terms and conditions of that Service Provider (such as conditions of carriage, booking, insurance terms, etc.) shall apply, as issued by the respective provider. These terms will be made available to you during the booking process.
As Service Provider terms may include provisions regarding liability, cancellations, booking changes, refunds (if applicable), and other restrictions, we strongly recommend that you review them carefully. By completing your booking, you unconditionally accept the terms and conditions of the relevant Service Provider, and the Platform bears no responsibility in this regard.
Booking Process & Contact Information
- During the booking process, the necessary technical means are provided to help you identify and correct any errors in the completion of booking forms before submitting your reservation request. You are advised to carefully review all information for accuracy before finalizing your booking, as any subsequent change requests may result in significant additional costs.
- We may need to contact you, for example in the event of changes to your booked travel services. You are required to provide accurate contact details, including your telephone number and email address, and to regularly check for messages from us.
- It is also your responsibility to ensure that you are able to receive our communications. We shall not be held liable if you do not receive a message due to circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including but not limited to: (i) providing an incorrect email address, (ii) your email settings preventing delivery of our messages, or (iii) your email system identifying our messages as spam or junk mail.
Flight Booking Intermediation
1. Conclusion of Contracts & Price Changes
After submitting your booking request, we will confirm receipt of your request via email, provided you have not selected immediate payment and ticket issuance. This marks the conclusion of the intermediation agreement between you and us. If you do not receive such confirmation within one hour of completing your booking request, and no operator has contacted you by email or phone to indicate any issues, please contact us by telephone for verification.
Once your tickets are issued, you will receive a confirmation message including your ticket number. This is the point at which a binding contract is concluded between you and the respective airline(s).
Flight prices and seat availability are provided directly by the airlines. If price changes occur beyond our control after submission of your booking request but before the contract with the airline is concluded (as described above), the contract will not take effect and any payment made will be fully refunded. We may contact you and offer the option to accept the revised price during normal business hours, but no later than 24 hours after we are notified of the price change or on the next business day.
2. Information on Bookings & Conditions of Carriage
For flights offered through the Platform, we act solely as an intermediary. The contract for the performance of the flight is concluded directly between you and the respective airline. We assume no contractual liability for the execution or non-execution of the flight. The operating airline is solely responsible for the performance of the flight.
Before completing your booking, the terms and conditions of the relevant airline will be made available to you.
Below is a general overview of common booking and transportation conditions typically applied by airlines. However, any specific terms set by the airline shall prevail. You are therefore advised to carefully review the applicable airline’s terms and conditions before booking.
a. Flight Times / Check-in
All flight times are local. Next-day arrivals are indicated with “+1” in schedules. Flight times are provisional and may change at short notice after ticket issuance due to air traffic control, weather, or operational constraints. Please reconfirm your flight times well in advance. You must comply with airline check-in deadlines. Airlines may deny boarding in case of late check-in. Some airlines require online check-in and may charge fees for airport check-in.
b. Combination of Separate Tickets
When two one-way tickets are combined instead of a return ticket, this will be clearly indicated during booking. These tickets are treated independently in cases of cancellation, schedule changes, or disruptions. Tickets with different booking references are always considered separate journeys.
c. Multi-Segment Tickets / Sequence of Use
Return or one-way tickets may consist of multiple flight segments. Most airlines require these segments to be used in sequence. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of subsequent segments. Missing an outbound flight may lead to automatic cancellation of the return flight.
d. Pregnancy
Some airlines may refuse to transport passengers beyond the 28th week of pregnancy. If you are pregnant, you should consult both your airline and your doctor before traveling.
e. Infants & Children
Please consult the airline regarding travel conditions for infants without a separate seat. Generally, children over 2 years require a seat, while infants (0–2 years) travel without one. If an infant turns 2 before the return journey, a child ticket must be issued for the entire trip. Infant tickets cannot be issued before birth, as correct name and date of birth must match travel documents. Incorrect ticket type selection will not be refunded.
f. Unaccompanied Minors
We do not facilitate bookings for unaccompanied minors. Children under 18 must travel with an adult. Some countries and airlines may deny entry or boarding without a legal guardian. Certain airlines may also require birth certificates.
g. Lost / Damaged Baggage
As intermediaries, we bear no responsibility for lost or damaged baggage. Any such issues must be reported immediately to the airline representative at the airport.
h. Accommodation & Overnight Stays
Ground transportation and overnight stays during travel are generally not included in the ticket price. You are responsible for arranging and verifying such services.
i. Connection Times Between Flights
Standard tickets offered on the Platform include approved minimum connection times set by airlines. If a delay causes a missed connection, the airline is responsible for assisting you (see Passenger Rights under EU Regulation). However, if separate tickets are booked, airlines bear no responsibility for missed connections. It is your responsibility to ensure sufficient connection time. Any additional costs incurred due to missed connections are non-refundable.
j. Duplicate Bookings
A duplicate booking occurs when two or more bookings exist under the same passenger name with the same airline. In such cases, airlines may cancel the bookings. This may also occur if bookings are made through different agencies. We are not responsible for cancellations or denied refunds resulting from duplicate bookings.
Airlines Banned from Operating in the European Union (EU Air Safety List)
Please note that certain airlines are prohibited from operating within the European Union, in accordance with decisions issued by the European Commission in close consultation with national aviation authorities. Such airlines are banned because they are considered unsafe or are not subject to adequate regulatory oversight by the authorities of their country.
You may check which airlines are affected by an operating ban via the following link:
EU Air Safety List (List of airlines banned from operating within the European Union)
Schedule Changes & Cancellations by Airlines
- Your agreement with the relevant airline may allow it to cancel or modify your bookings. We will notify you of any such changes as soon as we are informed by the airline.
- Flight times shown in your booking confirmation may change between the date of booking and your actual travel date. In the event of schedule changes, we will inform you promptly once notified by the airline. However, we strongly recommend that you contact your airline at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of each flight to reconfirm that your flight(s), including any connecting flights, will operate as planned.
- We have no control over airline schedule changes and accept no liability for any costs that may arise as a result of such changes.
Changes and cancellations requested by you
The conditions for changing flight bookings (including changes to the passenger name, destination, and travel date) and for obtaining refunds in the event of cancellation are determined by the respective airline, which is your contractual partner for the provision of the flight. We, acting as an intermediary, have no influence over these conditions.
If you wish to make a change to your booking or request a cancellation refund, we offer—as an additional service—to handle the request on your behalf, provided that the airline’s terms allow such a change or refund. During the booking of these additional services, you will be informed of any applicable terms and fees.
Alternatively, you may of course contact the respective airline directly.
To enable us to process your requested changes, we must receive your request no later than 24 hours before the start of your journey (by phone only). For change requests submitted at shorter notice, we recommend that you contact the respective airline directly.
For low-cost airlines, please refer to the relevant section below.
Failure to take the flight
By this, you authorize us to cancel any unused flight on your behalf in the event of failure to take the flight and to request any applicable refunds from the airline on your behalf.
We have the right, but not the obligation, to do so, and your right to request refunds directly from the airline remains unaffected.
Low-cost airlines
When arranging Travel Services provided by low-cost airlines, we may act on your behalf in concluding the contract between you and the respective low-cost airline.
We do not have access to the booking systems of low-cost airlines. Therefore, for any questions regarding bookings, changes, or cancellations, please contact the respective low-cost airline directly.
Please also note that some low-cost airlines may charge fees for manual check-in at the airport. To avoid such fees, you should use the online check-in facility via the airline’s website. We recommend that you familiarize yourself in good time before departure with the check-in options and conditions of your airline.
Booking confirmations for low-cost flights are sent once the reservation has been confirmed by the respective low-cost airline. You may receive two booking confirmations—one from us and one from the airline. If you receive both, please use the airline’s booking confirmation for check-in.
Special provisions for the mediation of multi-service bookings
The Platform offers you the possibility to combine and match multiple individual services as you wish. In such cases, you instruct us to act as an intermediary for the booking of various travel services from different suppliers.
The relevant suppliers will be clearly identified during the booking process before the reservation is completed.
Where individual services are combined, no travel contract is concluded between you and us. Instead, you enter into separate contracts for the provision of individual services with each respective supplier.
In this case, we act solely in our capacity as an intermediary in relation to each individual travel service.
Information on passports, visas, and health regulations
Passport, visa, and/or health requirements may change; therefore, you should consult the relevant authorities (embassy, consulate, etc.) in good time.
It is your responsibility to hold a valid passport and, where applicable, a visa. Please ensure that you take into account all transit points in your journey, for which a visa may also be required. As obtaining a visa may take a considerable amount of time, we strongly recommend that you make the necessary arrangements well in advance.
We accept no liability for customers who do not possess the correct travel documents.
Each destination has its own requirements regarding entry formalities, vaccinations, and related matters, which may also vary depending on the passenger’s nationality. It is your responsibility to obtain this information.
We shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from your failure to comply with official regulations. Accordingly, we strongly advise that you always verify the applicable requirements of your chosen destination and any transit countries, as well as the time needed to complete all necessary formalities.
Our services
Seat Selection (where available)
The seat selection service is designed to allow you to select and pre-book seats for your flights. In the event that your selected seats are unavailable for any reason, seats that best match your preference (window / middle / aisle) will be assigned.
Seat selection fees are non-refundable.
Seat selection is subject to availability at the time of request. Please note that a confirmed seat reservation does not entitle you to a specific seat on the aircraft (e.g., seat 3A), but only to the selected category (e.g., aisle seat, window seat, extra legroom seat). Airlines reserve the right to change your selected seats for operational or safety reasons. This is beyond our control.
Seat selection is not available for infants, as they must sit on an adult’s lap during the flight.
- Extra Baggage (where available)
The extra baggage pre-purchase service is designed to allow you to select the fare that suits your needs (with or without baggage).
The cost of pre-purchased extra baggage is non-refundable and non-transferable, either to the same service provider or to another provider.
It is irrevocably linked to the airline ticket you have booked or purchased.
Fees and payments
Payment
Payment for Travel Services is processed either by us (in cooperation with payment service providers that facilitate payment processing) or by the respective Service Provider. Please note that we may need to share your payment details (such as credit or debit card information) with payment service providers in order to process your payment. All customer payment information is encrypted and transmitted via a secure server when shared with our payment service providers.Any communication (by phone or electronically), as well as services provided through the platform, may be subject to a service fee, which is determined solely by us and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Depending on your booking choices and additional services, payment may be split into two separate transactions—one charged by us and another by the respective Service Provider. You will not be charged more than the total price displayed on our website. The same payment security measures apply.
To enable us to process your payment, you must ensure that sufficient funds are available in your account. In the event of a payment processing issue, we will attempt to process the payment again in cooperation with our payment service providers. If payment cannot be completed, we will contact you as soon as possible with instructions for alternative payment methods. If payment is still not received following these instructions, the outstanding amount may be referred to a debt collection agency.
Payment Fraud
If there are reasons to suspect fraudulent activity, we reserve the right to refuse processing the payment. Verification of the payment may be requested in cases of suspected criminal activity. All instances of payment fraud will be reported to the police and may be referred to a debt collection agency.

Please also refer to the section CUSTOMER RIGHTS UNDER EU REGULATIONS.
